I would like to verify :

1- The Cisco prime  server requirement as a  VM  . Trying to host it on a VM 

2- what is the latest Cisco prime IOS version on a VM ?

3- how to identify the license required to support 1000 AP and 4 WLC

Go with cisco Prime 3.4

If you have 4 AP and 1000 AP then you should go with Express Setup:

Check the Table 1 &Table 2, You will get all your answer.
