hi all
i have two cisco WISM2 in two 6500 configured as VSS
after I configured the HA from GUI, the two controllers rebooted together and i connect console to the primary one when it reach to starting the redundancy
it fail and appear to me
Dropping ARP packet since IP conflict is detected
Dropping ARP packet since IP conflict is detected
Dropping ARP packet since IP conflict is detected
Dropping ARP packet since IP conflict is detected
Dropping ARP packet since IP conflict is detected
Dropping ARP packet since IP conflict is detected
Dropping ARP packet since IP conflict is detected
Dropping ARP packet since IP conflict is detected
and then the secondary controller is down and unreachable
please advice how can i solve this issue

You have a duplicate IP address in your network. You must find it out.
There is no otherway.

thanks alot i found it and passed this step
but now I an stuck in other point, after configured the HA and while the two wisms reloading I found this log on the console of secondary wism:

Hi,
1. is the cable connected and is the link LED active? What is the output from “show interfaces”?
2. Did you tried to reboot both WLC at same time??
Workaround:
Configure HA once again and reboot primary and after primary comes up then reboot secondary.(do not reboot at same time)

1- the two wisms, each one in core 6500 and the physical connection between the two WISMs is the VSL link which of the VSS
does I need another physical link ?
2- i rebooted them at the same time and also i tried to reboot the primary controller first and after it come back up i rebooted the secondary but also failed ?
i would like to tell you something, the primary wism is activated permanent with 100 AP licesne and the secondary controller is activated with the evaluation license (1500 AP) which will be expired after time period, does this cause a problem in the HA ?

Hi,
1. To achieve HA between two Cisco WiSM2 platforms, the controllers should be deployed on a single chassis or on multiple chassis using a virtual switching system (VSS) and extending a redundancy VLAN between the multiple chassis.
2.Why you activated the evaluation license on WISM2 ? Noramally if you configured with HA and primary wlc is down then the HA-WLC automatically share the configuration and the license for 90 days from the main WLC.

I didnot activate the evaluation license I found it activated
does this cause this problem of HA failure ?
I tried what you told me but the issue is still exist
now I have Cisco WLC1 is active and WLC2 is mantanence mode
kindly find the logs of WLC during the reboot to activate HA as long as show redundancy summary from the two controllers:

Can you please tell me which license you have on both WLCs.
Primary with enough AP license and secondary with HA-SKU or ??

IP address and License looks ok.
But there must be something wrong because WLC is in Maintanence mode.
Can you check the whole config again.
