Hi guys,
I am hoping to get some help please.
So I am looking at doing some self-study on Cisco Wireless certification and bought a second Cisco 2504 WLC from internet and was told it has the basic 5 AP license to go with it.
Now I've received the WLC and just about to reset it back to factory default, but since I do not have the .lic file, my concern is whether after doing the Factory Reset, would the license still going to be there? Or I am going to require the .lic file and get it installed?
Thanks
Adam

The appliance AP license count doesn't get erased during factory-reset.

Thanks for that Leo :)
Can I assume this applies to controllers that has adder license as well?
As I managed to get hold of another AIR-CT2504-25-K9 (With 25 base license) & 20 Adder license, so a total of 45.
The 20 adder license will not disappear during factory reset correct? Thanks again.

That is correct.
And if, for unknown reason the license changes, getting the correct licenses is as easy as sending an email to Cisco License with the serial number of the appliance. Normally, you'll get a fast response in about an hour.
