Hello,

We got a 5760 WLC and we are trying to implement a multicast program when the receiver and the sender are on the same SSID.

Is it possible for it work?

Ok, an update,

We configured another SSID and tried to check if the multicast traffic will work if we will use routing.

But when we connect the multicast receiver to the SSID we don't see the IGMP messages on the LAN.

We discovered that the multicast receiver use IGMPv3, other host on the same WLAN that use IGMPv2 we do see their IGMPv2 messages.

Any ideas?

Is Multicast enabled and configured on the controller? By default it normally isn't.

I don't know how to do it on the 5760, but on the other platform (5500 series) you need to configure several steps.

This here should help: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless-mobility/wireless-mobility/119016-configure-wirelessmulticast-00.html

Hi Patoberli,

I also knows on the 5508, only having troubles with the IOS-XE

indeed the multicast is enabled on the WLC:

wireless multicast

and the WLC works with the APs in MCMC mode:

ap capwap multicast 239.255.X.X
