Cisco WLC C9800-CL virtual not able to complete day 0 setup

Hello,

I am deploying  a new WLC C9800-CL virtual: Version 16.12.08
During the initial setup when I accessed the GUI I was redirected to Day 0 as expected.

While completing the Wireless Management Settings I am unable to complete it (error below), it is not allowing me to use the same IP as the MGMT

This IP I am using in my MGMT VLAN and i configured in the WLC
I have configured several WLCs with this configurations and I never had this issue, I always use the same IP for MGMT and Wireless Management.

I don´t if this is something in tis version.

16.12.x

Upgrade first to 17.3.5 or later or 17.6.x or later, and then to 17.9.x.

Upgrade first to 17.3.5 or later or 17.6.x or later, and then to 17.9.x

Start with a virgin installation instead. Bypassing Day 0 has already been explaned , does not relate to NTP and Certificates.

  - Normally that is allowed  , why are you using such an old version ?

Yes, I set up several different WLCs with the same IP address.

Because I had a issue uploading an image from 17.x.x to VMware is give me a error, so as workaroung I want to isntall this verison, gain HTTPs acess and upgrade the WLC.

Doubt:
1- Is not this command via CLI enough for "wireless management interface Vlan130"?
2- Is there anyway to bypass the Day 0 configurations?
2.1 - Is there any impact to bypass it?

I am little bit stuck because I dont have acess to Vmware enviroment.

 - I would for sure try to resolve this VMware problem first , because for me using that version is a no go.
You can bypass the Day 0 configuration by configuring a country code on the controller ; for that you need to shut the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz radios first ; then set the country code ; enable them again , and you will no longer have the Day 0 configurations.

Thank you so much for the quick reply
My doubt is:
- Is there any issue if I upgrade nowfrom this 16.12.08  to 17.09.05
- Is there any issue to bypass the Day 0 configuration (I know that I will have to configure NTP, time zone later). However, how about? Generate Ceritificate and  Password  (Figure below)

Do not use 16.12.08 you're just asking for problems!

Upgrading is a problem because the disk size has changed twice between then and latest versions so you will be forced to re-install anyway because the disk will be too small for upgrades. 8GB -> 16 GB -> 32GB from 17.13.1

*****IOS-XE 17.13.1 release onwards, minimum disk space requirement is changed to 32GB for all the vWLC variants to support app-hosting.
Many of the install guide tables have not been updated to reflect this ...
