Cisco WLC License

Hi All,

Could somebody help me, i have Cisco WLC 5508 with License detail like picture below  only one with status "In Use".  my question can i used other license with status inactive ?

Pic just showing how much AP adder license added to WLCs....

Fisrt 25 AP adder license

37 +25 =62..1st Adder

62+25=87.....2nd

87+25=112....3rd

112+25=137....4th

137+25=162.....5th

so overall you have 162 AP license on WLC and you can use max 162 AP and as its showing in Pic....it is active.

So if you add next time one more 25 AP adder lice. then you will see 187 and that will in in use.

Thanks a lot for your information,  for temporary when i add 1 or 2 access point if license AP is full, this ap can use evaluation license ?

The 5508 like the 2504 can only use licenses that were purchased and installed or eval if not expired. If you go over the AP license count, then you would need to activate the eval, if not expired. You will not be able to do both. The newer controllers that have right to use license you would be able to do that.
