You can use it with both physical and virtual controller. I do not have the most up to date information available, however from my past experience I have seen that MSCHAPv2 was not supported with Novell LDAP. However I would recommend checking with Novell support or in their forums to get the most up to date information (as it has been quite sometime since I have worked on it).

There are a couple of documents which I found. One of them is a little outdated:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/4400-series-wireless-lan-controllers/100590-ldap-eapfast-config.html

There is another one which shows some of the config that can be done through CLI:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/4400-series-wireless-lan-controllers/100590-ldap-eapfast-config.html

I prefer the first one as it covers all the necessary steps. As a sidenote I would also like to inform that this concept is covered in good detail in our 'Wireless Networker Intensive' training  program along with troubleshooting methodology and several other important concepts which you will find useful.

Hello,

You can use WLC with Novell eDirectory as your LDAP server. The configuration on the WLC is similar to any other LDAP server. There is no documentation available specifically for Novell, but here is the link that details the LDAP related config on the WLC:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/4400-series-wireless-lan-controllers/108008-ldap-web-auth-wlc.html#anc22

thanks a lot for your answer , there is more question in my mind like is it work for virtual and hardware appliance also is it work for dot1x and what is the supported protocols for that

Hello,

Are you referring to virtual or physical WLC? Do you have the EAP profiles configured on the WLC itself or you are using an external radius server which will then talk to the LDAP server?
