Hello Professionals,

I'm having an client wireless issue for bad wifi quality and here's status:

# WLC: 9800 / AP: 2802E

1. SSID: VENDOR (Macfiltering + PSK)
2. SSID: IT (Macfiltering + PSK)

In same place, two laptops are connected SSID: VENDOR / SSID: IT respectively.
Both laptops are joined conference meeting (MS Teams) over the same AP.
However, one of laptop irregularly disconnect the network and comeback after 6-11 ping loss. This laptop is connected to 'VENDOR'. Below screenshot is worst disconnected status.

The WLAN configurations are identical for both SSID.
I cannot find the difference which makes ping loss.

Which part should I look at?

Thank you for your time.

 - Can start by having a look at : https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/catalyst-9800-series-wireless-controllers/217738-monitor-catalyst-9800-kpis-key-performa.html#anc5
and check if any of these commands can bring insights.

For a detailed observation engage in full client debugging according to https://logadvisor.cisco.com/logadvisor/wireless/9800/9800ClientConnectivity , these debugs can be analyzed with Wireless Debug Analyzer

+ Have a checkup of the 9800 WLC configuration with the CLI command show tech wireless and feed the output to : Wireless Config Analyzer
(do not use a simple 'show tech' for the above procedure)

  - What software version are you using on the 9800 ?

Start by looking the laptop adapter.  Check the driver, make sure they are up to date. Always prefer intel adapter. Qualcomm is terrible.

Make sure laptop network drivers are fully up to date.  For Intel refer to:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19351/intel-wireless-wi-fi-drivers-for-windows-10-and-windows-11.html

Check that WLC software is up to date as per TAC recommended link below.

Dear,

You can connect that laptop to other SSID if you were allowed to do so, and check weather the issue persist. If you find same issue then check the laptop for any updates pending in it. Also check WiFi adapter's advance setting for any out dated setting is selected or transmit power also roaming aggressiveness in it. Try to tweak those settings.
