the LAP was reset to default using the mode button. It already has an lwapp image downloaded from the controller on it. I cannot reconfigure it with IP address and controller IP address. Command disabled message is obtained

You can't configure an AP when it's on Lightweight mode. If you want to configure the IP Address it has to be on Autonomous mode.

Does this help with your question?

I uploaded an autonomous image on the AP but I do not get the lwapp ip addrress command so that I can configure a static Ip address on the device. Can you help me out?

Here's a silly question: Is the AP running the newly uploaded Autonomous IOS?

Lightweight IOS always have a "rcv" prefix in the filename.
