Hello,

On an AP1100, could you use EAP-FAST authentication for a SSID and put the AP in open mode for another SSID ?

The goal is to secure the link between a specific computer and the AP, and let some "guests" use AP for Internet access.

I've tried but it doesn't work, I think cause I can't declare Encryption manager only for one SSID. Is there any solution or do I have to install a second AP for open access ?

Thanks for help

Hi,

You can certainly have multiple SSIDs mapped to VLANs on Aironet 350's and 1200 so i would think you can do this on an 1100 too.

Are you associating with the AP on both SSIDs, have you got the VLANs mapped to the SSIDs trunked to your switch port.

Rgds

Paddy

Actually, just had a quick look on CCO and you can configure up to 16 SSIDs on the 1100 which is certainly the same as the 1200.

The SSID link is here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps4570/products_installation_and_configuration_guide_chapter09186a0080101c3b.html

The VLAN link is here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps4570/products_installation_and_configuration_guide_chapter09186a0080101c43.html

So again, if the AP is configured correctly, check the link between AP and switch, also check if there are any restrictions (acl's etc) on the VLAN your are having problems with.

Have a good weekend!

Paddy

thanks, VLAN was the solution.
