Controlling wireless access in a dormitory setting

New CUWN - WLC/WCS/ASC - Intention is to allow each student in a dormitory to authenticate to the wireless network with a maximum of (3) devices… i.e Wii, laptop, iPad… additionally limit the bandwidth per device or per user. Will the combination of these products allow for such control?  Ideas?

To limit logins, go to configure -> controllers ->  controllerIP ->security -> user login policies and set "maximum number of concurrent logins for a single user name" to 3.

To limit bandwidth per user, the easiest way would be to use 802.11b only!  And/or you could set QOS for the WLAN to Bronze, to prioritise all other traffic over these users.

Just to add to the other post, you can limit the # of login's but to really have a per user or device bandwidth is tough.  You can put QoS, but if all devices are on the same vlan... well...not going to help you there.  There are 3rd party software you can try, don't know how big of an implementation you have, but zonecd has a free offering that can do what you want, but again... not really for huge installs.
