Hi Experts,
I have a brand new Catalyst AP CW9166I-ROW with catalyst Image.
I need to convert it to Meraki managed and i don't have a WLC.
Is there any way to convert this without registering to a WLC..?
Thanks in advance..

Essentially not or not immediately if you would use a 9800-CL , it will not force any license entitlements for a month, so it's good for that procedure ,

- No , you need a WLC : https://www.jiribrejcha.net/2024/02/convert-cisco-catalyst-wireless-access-point-to-meraki-cloud-managed-mode/
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/wireless/catalyst-9100ax-access-points/migrating-dna-to-meraki-mgmt-mode.html
(note that you can download and deploy the virtual 9800-CL for free)

Hi Marce,
Thanks for the advice.
So, does the WLC require any licenses for the AP to get registered with WLC.?
Thanks,

You do not have any other option than create virtual WLC and make convertion.
that is the reason cisco always suggest when you ordering order correct one.
