Convert second 2802 to ME Controller

I'm pulling my hair out, so I have 2 - 2802E's. I flashed the first one with the Cisco ME firmware 8.8.100 It's fully configured working fine. I bring up the second unit it finds the controller works fine as a CAPWAP downloads the latest firmware from the TFTP server defived in ME and restarts, all is well. Now I want to make that second unit a secondary controller for failover. I check it off and click on Convert to ME. The unit just sits their and "Enter Administrative User Name" and it will go on to run through the entire setup process. I've tried setting it up with all the same information and just a different management IP. I've tried all the same information which of course just created an IP conflict. And probably a few other variations I can't think of. I believe at one point I just rebooted the thing to get rid of the setup wizard but it would appear and disappear from the primary controller. When it was there editing the AP and clicking "Make ME Controller" would trigger a reboot but never actually make it a controller for this environment. I can't find ANY documentation for the current version of ME on adding a failover controller. I found old documentation regarding a cloud based setup. Documentation regarding WLAN controllers but nothing helpful regarding Cisco ME 8.8 or anything close. Does anyone have any tips on the proper steps? Thank you.

Once you convert to ME, you need to have two different IPs to those two ME - WLCs. One will be master & otherone will be take over that role once master ME is no longer in action in its role. Refer below guide

Great thanks for the link and advise, I WILL read through it.

But essentially what you're saying I should go through the setup wizard with all the same info, system name etc on the second unit I converted ME.

The one exception being the management IP that should be different that the existing controller.

Then when it comes up on my existing controller as ME Capable I click "Make ME Controller"?

Thanks again,
