copy an ios file from flash memory to tftp server

Hi everyone,

I was attempting to copy an ios image from a lightweight AP to a TFTP server because I need to format the flash.

Can anyone help with an easy step-by-step approach?

Thanks.

Olapade.

Go to the Cisco website and download the firmware.

Leo Laohoo,

I have the firmware. The issue I'm having is how to save my copy of the firmware to tftp server.

I have already provided the answer:  Download the RCV firmware from the Cisco website.

As you may find from my badge, I'm a fresh CCNA certified and may not know all the advanced networking terminology.

Can you explain if there is any difference between the firmware I already have and the one you advised me to download from Cisco website?

How can anyone verify the file copied from the AP to the TFTP server is not corrupt?  No one can if no one could compare the MD5 hash.

Next, how easy is it to download a file from the Cisco website?  Compare that to someone who has to look for instruction about transferring the file from one place to another?

Finally, there is only ONE RCV file from the Cisco website.  The firmware files in the AP has >12 files that needed to be downloaded.

I'm sorry that you can't help me. Maybe you could in the future.

Thanks.

Do not want to believe me?
Copy all the files found in the flash:ap3g2-rcvk9w8-mx directory.

Use the command "copy flash:ap3g2-rcvk9w8-mx/<filename>.ext tftp:".
