CW9164I-ROW (AP has radio slot2 with failed regulatory domain).

Hi everyone!

I was using the tool WCAE to take a look at our WLC 9800-L configurations. And I saw two "Checks" that alert me,

1. "60020 | Warning | RF | WLC has % of APs with failed interference profile for 2.4 GHz Band." on the Controller section.

2. "20068 | Error | Regularoty | AP has radio slot2 with failed regulatory domain."

We currcurrently don't have a deployment for 6 GHz WiFi, but, I guest if we try to deploy it this error will be an issue during the process,

I take a look at websites like: https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/assets/prod/wireless/wireless-compliance-tool/index.html#wp9005314, and https://www.wi-fi.org/regulations-enabling-6-ghz-wi-fi, and for my understanding the regulatory domain should work in Mexico for 6 GHz

6Ghz was introduced for few countries including Mexico only from 17.14.x. Please check release notes of 17.14.x. We had similar issue when using 9166D1-ROW and were asked by TAC to upgrade to 17.14.x.

Is the -ROW the model you have?  Just making sure what the label on the AP shows.

**Update**

Oh, you don't have any ap's you are just looking at the WCAE? If the data sheet for the model you have shows 6GHz is supported, and the AP and controller image is supported, I think that is all you need to look at. Also, your show tech will have no ap's in it.

Yeah, I do have the CW9164I-ROW in Production working with 2.4 and 5 ghz, but we haven't "activated" the 6 ghz but, playing around with the WCAE tool, I noticed this alert

Thank you!

You can always create a test SSID that uses 6GHz so you can see if it works.  This will not impact anything since you would only have 6GHZ enabled and all the rest disabled.  You do have spare ap's you can test with correct?

Hi! I just have created an SSID with WPA3 and 6GHz, and no success:(

What happens if your go to Configuration > Wireless > Access Point > 6 GHZ Radios > Select your AP and then toggle the admin status.  Make sure that Assignment Method is set to Auto (Client Serving) or just Client Serving. When you toggle the admin status, make sure your apply the changes also.

The Admin status it's enabled, but if I switched to Disabled and try to eneable it again, it shows me this error and it doesn't allow me to enable it again.

Open a case with TAC.  That is your best bet right now to get it solved sooner than later.  The only other thing you can do is upgrade or make sure you have the latest device pack, etc. based on the image you use. Everything else looks right on your end.  You are supplying enough power to the AP correct?
