Hello,
We have 3 controllers :
2* 5508
1* 2504
All controllers are in version 7.2.111.3.
C1 is a 5508, it is ou anchor controller.
C2 is a 5508, it is a big site controller.
C3 is a 2504, it is a small site controller.
C2 and C3 are in the same mobility group than C1 (and all is up up in mobilty managment).
When "DHCP Addr. Assignment" is enable on C1 :
- Clients on C2 received their IP address by our external DHCP server via C1 and the guest tunneling betwenn C1 and C2 and all is working fine.
- Clients on C3 don't received their IP address by our external DHCP server via C1 and the guest tunneling betwenn C1 and C3, so nothing work.
When "DHCP Addr. Assignment" is disable on C1 :
- Clients on C2 don't received their IP address by our external DHCP server via C1 and the guest tunneling betwenn C1 and C2, so nothing work.
- Clients on C3 received their IP address by our external DHCP server via C1 and the guest tunneling betwenn C1 and C3 and all is working fine.
Anyone have an idea that could explain this problem ?

Hi and welcome to CSC.
A few things you want to check..
1. On C3, you mentioned the mobility tunnels are up. But are you sure you anchored the WLAN on C3 to C1?
2. I might also suggest you check both WLAN and make sure all the timers and check boxes are identical. Sometimes have a timer sent on one controller different from another impacts odd things.
3. I might also suggest, on C2 and C3. Create a dummy guest interface. And tie these WLANs to this dummy interface. If a tunnel breaks clients will lan right on the respected controller C2 or C3.

Thanks for your welcome.
1. When "DHCP Addr. Assignment" is unchecked, the anchoring is working between C1 and C3 and clients connected to AP joined on C3 are able to received their IP addresses.
2. I already checked all parameters for the WLAN on C1, C2 and C3. They are all the same.
3. I don't unerstand what your idea. Can you tell me more about it ?

Sounds like something is misconfigured ..
Are you using dhcp proxy or ip helpers ..

Post debug client output from both foreign and anchor WLCs for both working and non working sceanrio.
WLC>debug client
WLC>debug dhcp message enable

I am experiencing this issue today. Here is my setup:
Anchor-5508 controller as Anchor for Guest access.
Foreign-5508 at remote site with duplicate configuration for the SSiD.
Foreign-2504 at 2nd remote site with duplicate configuration for the SSiD
DHCP proxy is enabled on all 3 controllers
DHCP address is required.
SSiD Name: Guest
WLAN # 13
WLAN interface is management for Foreign controllers and Guest-dmz for anchor controller.
Security is the same.
Mobility anchor has been set as :
Anchor-5508 local
Foreign-5508 - Anchor IP Address
Foreign-2504 - Anchor IP Address
When a client connects to an AP on the Feriegn-5508 they receive an IP Address and proceed accordingly.
When a client connects to an AP on the Foreign-2504 they are not able to receive an address.
Anyone have any ideas to why this may be happening? i am going to try to disable DHCP requiired for the Foreign-2504 to see if that solves it. I am hoping that there is a different reason or resolution. I will try to get configs from all three to share and compare.
Thanks
Jason
