Is there any way to drop the wireless connection automaticlly when a client docks a computer into a wired dock. The wireless radio and wired port are on different VLAN's. I do not want them to be multihomed. I can use different profiles if they bring it up fresh but I am concerned with clients returning from conference rooms to their desks and just docking without rebooting. Currently using 1130 a,b,g AP's, WLSE 2.9, ACS Radius servers. Windows XP Pro service pack 1 or 2 (depends on the client)
Thanks in advance!

I don't think it is possible to connect directly to a wired network without rebooting the client. Since the configurations would be active on the client a reboot is essential on the client side.

I've often wanted this too. I spoke to a wireless networking guy from Microsoft who said that they had changed their Corporate setup to block wireless networks when connected via a wired interface so it must be possible! I know that there are a number of utilities that will do it for you (ie IBM Connections). Note the Advanced/Advanced Settings... on the Network Connections Control Panel does not really work and the wireless connection is still used even when it is set to a lower priority but give it a try.

We opened a case with Microsoft Premier Support in December of 04 on this issue. At that time they didn't have away to disable the WLAN if a wired connection existed. 3rd party tool is required....
