Hi NikhiL,

According to the page 3 of the attached file (April 24, 2008), it said that:

These Cisco wireless LAN controllers support autonomous access points upgraded to lightweight mode:

• 2000 series controllers

• 4400 series controllers

• Cisco Wireless Services Modules (WiSMs) for Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Switches

• Controller Network Modules within the Cisco 28/37/38xx Series Integrated Services Routers

• Catalyst 3750G Integrated Wireless LAN Controller Switches

However, I find no where to see if these new controllers (2504 and 5508) support autonomous APs converted to lightweight mode.

Pls advise.

Regards,

Duc

Hi Duc,

The document is very old and was not revised after Cisco introduced 5500 or 2500 series controllers to the market. In the document you can see the minimum requirement for controllers as

"Cisco controllers must run a minimum of software version 3.1"

Any controllers running these softwares version except "40xx, 41xx, or 3500 controllers." will support Light weight AP

Let me know if face any issue with AP joining to the controller

Thanks

NikhiL

Thanks a lot for the info, NikhiL.
