I noticed that a few of our APs have up times of less than 48 hours. A little digging (asking the ethernet switch administrator) and I discovered the PoE switchport on the 4506 switch is set to auto negotiate for speed and duplex, however I did see in the switch logs that there is a speed and duplex mismatch on the port the access point in connected ot.
That said, I ran an inventory report in WCS and exported it to Excel. In the Duplex column, 96% of the APs show "Full Duplex". However, the APs in question do not have anything in the Duplex column - ie, they are blank.
Does anyone know how to somehow extract what's really out there in the field? For whatever reason the inventory is not reporting anything other than Full Duplex, which leads me to believe there might be a problem.
This may sound strange, but I don't have access to the switches - I have to go to someone and have them look. I would rather go to them with a report of what needs to be changed or looked at.
I can't seem to find any speed/duplex setting in the controller for the access points. Looks like they are automagically set to auto speed and auto duplex.
Thanks in advance!
