I am looking to enabling band selection on my Cisco wireless controller and was wondering if anyone was aware of any drawbacks or problems in doing so.

I have "Client Band Select" enabled on all of my SSID.  Can't say anything bad.

Along with the question above, is it possible to disable the 2.4ghz radio on just a few access points (not globally).

I've already responded to this question in your other thread HERE.

I wouldn't do it ... You are better served by just have 2 different SSIDs.

Production = 2.4 Ghz

Production2 = 5 Ghz

Giving clients the option while having the controller trying to steer client to specific bands isn't good. Keep your wireless network simple. Don't add complexity.
