EAP-MD5 authentication with XP and CiscoAP350

I'm currently testing winXP EAP (MD5 mode) client with a Cisco AP350 (firmware 11.21) and a Steel Belted RADIUS server (v3.0). The authenication is successfull i.e. the AP receives a Access-Accept packet and the client a EAP-success packet from the AP. On the network connection window I can read "Authentication succeeded" and yet the AP won't change the wireless station state to EAP associated and won't let the client's traffic go through.

Does anyone have an idea where this problem can come from? Is it a matter of firmware or configuration of the client or the AP?

Thanks
