encryption mode for MAC or PEAP

Hi all..

I'm setting up 2 SSIDs on 2 different VLANs, 1 for guest and another for internal.

The "guest" SSID is set to open with no encryption required.

The "internal" SSID is supposed to do MAC authentication or PEAP.

The guest portion is working fine, but for the internal portion, i have some issues, whatt should the encryption settings the internal vlan?

I tried using encryption mode optional, but my PEAP users can authenticate successfully, but unable to obtain ip address, and if i set it to mandatory, then PEAP works fine, but my MAC users will not get authenticated.

I did not set any filter list(Is it required?)

I'm testing on a AP1200 with 12.3(2)JA firmware.

I'm using the windows XP SP1 supplicant.

Tks

Ben

The encryption configuration done on the Access point must match with that done on the Client adapter. SInce you have configured encryption mode optional on the AP check what is the encryption method selected on the Client adapter. If you want to enable WEP and therby encryption on the AP make sure that WEP is enabled on the client adapter aswell..
