Failed to apply 25 AP license on WLC 2504

hi all,

i've got a WLC 2504 that has 5 AP support by default.

we purchased for 25 AP license and was successfully to TFTP the .lic file using 3CDaemon.

i followed the steps using below but the new license didn't take effect.

i was also waiting for the EULA prompt but didn't see it.

please anyone advise what to do next or is there any extra steps i need to do?

i tried to TFTP the license again but had error can't overwrite existing license.

i've transferred the 25 AP license again using IE this time (previous was FF) and did a reboot afterwards.

still nothing. anything to do with WLC image 8.0?

I'm having a similar issue. I start the license install action and I watch the TFTP server transfer the license file and then the WLC becomes unresponsive for a few minutes and I get an "operation failled" error as below:

*emWeb: Dec 22 17:56:30.003: #USMDB-3-MSGTAG029: usmdb_license.c:818 License operation failed with rc : Operation timed out..!!!

hi,

use 3CDaemon for TFTP. make sure you type the correct WLC serial number and product ID.

if still fails, open a TAC case and escalate to their licensing group/team.

Check if the windows firewall  blocking the TFTP traffic.
