Features of Client without having ACU installed

I would like to install the wireless clients without the ACU. I was wondering if all the features of the wireless card still work like:

Limit client power

Limit Link speed

Radio management

My thinking is that these features are in the firmware so if I am running the latest driver and firmware and let Windows handle the authentication and encription settings then I will not be loosing the features I want. Does anyone know of a way to veiw the status of the card without the ACU installed?

I would think of the ACU as a "handle" to set various parameters on the NIC. Without ACU, you wont be able to set or limit the power of the card to a value from the default. Nor does any of the other features like radio management, world mode and a hell lot more..work without enabling them using the ACU. I think, atleast you will have to write a software interface of your own to enable/disable these features.

An easy way to see the status of the card is to use the LEDs on the card.
