Field Upgrade in HA-SSO environment

- I rcently installed 1.7.0.0-FUS in a dual 5508 HA environment and got a little bit disappointed that in
the official procedure boot controllers are rebooted at the same time when issuing the 'reset system' command.

Is it possible to 'engineer' the upgrade procedure in such a way that in a HA-environment , benefits of the fact that

you have 2 controllers kan be kept. Meaning effectively that it would be handy, to  be able to reboot the controllers

separately at  a randmom moment in time (without having to do major config changes on the HA - setup, such

as abandoning it in configuring terms, for instance).

      Hints welcomed!

Have you looked at the procedure for upgrading for HA? I don't know if there is a future fix for what you have done, but here is the process documented for upgrading HA

Note that his doc refers to upgrading >standard< controller software not a FUS image. I also note

in some paragraph (see below).  I presume 'reset peer-system' could be used to avoid the original discussed issue, yet

is not documented as such.

  • Service Upgrade is not supported in this release, so network downtime should be planned before you upgrade the WLCs in the HA setup

The process is the same as it has to be loaded on each WLC.... the FUS will take 35-45 minutes.

Thanks,

Scott
