Flex profile Creation in DNAC

Hi team,

We are deploying 9800 WLC with DNAC. We are deploying Flex connect solution. When we provision through DNAC, we saw flex profile name created. We want to understand how flex profile name created as we only enable flexconnect in Wireless profile and nothing else.

2nd question, what is significance of flex profile name option present in site tag . During provision , we have not define any name and keep it as default.

@ahmad.syed regarding your 2nd question, a Flex profile is intended to assign VLAN mapping to all APs using that Site Tag (native VLAN and WLAN-2-VLAN maps) as well as other functionalities such as but not limited to ACL mapping, pre-auth-acl for Guest under CWA,...

Regarding how DNA-C manages Flex profile naming, this is internal hashing and from my experience, it is hard to track down when you read the config on the WLC, as there is no way to map it to a proper site when reading it.

I'm not a fan of deploying wireless configs from DNA-C if not using SDA, and I only use it for assurance.

Hi @JPavonM ,

Agree about reason of flex profile. Confusion which we have, We are not asisgining flex profile name anywhere only thing we enable flexconnect feature in Wireless Profile during SSID config.

Now, in site tag there is option to give flexconnect profile name , which we are keeping default .

Question, if we define flexprofile name in site tag during DNAC provision, it will override default flex name or what will happen.

Yes it should, as DNAC does not push all config to WLC until it all the config ends on GUI.
