Guest Access

I have 4 Cisco Access points that I would like to setup for guest access on our company network.  They are older access points and I'd like to know if they can be used for this function. I have 3 1200 series AP's, each one using a different version of software and one Cisco 350 AP, sw version 11.21.

Can these older access point be used?

Should I install a wireless lan controller to manage these AP and the guest zone?

Robert,

    Can you define 'guest access'?

If you are just wanting to put up a second SSID, that dumps the traffic into a restricted/guest VLAN on the wire.  THen yes you could do this with what you have.

If you are meaning that you want a splash screen.  Then you would either need a third party device or the WLC to do that.

****The 350 will not be able to join a WLC, the 1200 should so long as the 2.4GHz radio is a MP31G.****

HTH,

Steve
