Guest not getting login page

I have gone through the documentation on setting up Guest wireless. We want to have the user enter a username and password.

We are using Aironet 2802I access points with Mobility Express - version 8.10.151.0

I have configured the guest network.

Under WLAN Security I have the following

Guest Network - enabled

Captive Portal Assistant - enabled

MAC Filtering - disabled

Random MAC Filter - disabled

Captive Portal - Internal Splash Page

Access Type - Local User Account

ACL Name(IPv4) - Guest

ACL Name(IPv6) - None

Under VLAN & Firewall I have

Client IP Management - Mobility Express Controller

Peer to Peer Block - disabled

Native VLAN - 30

Use VLAN tagging - option disabled

DHCP Scope - SSMIC-GUEST

VLAN ID - 37

Enable Firewall - no

VLAN Name     VLAN ID

MGMT              30

Guest               37

SSMIC             29

WLAN Users

User Name - ssmic guest

Guest User - yes

Lifetime - 86400

WLAN Profile - SSMIC-GUEST

Guest WLAN

Page Type - Internal (Default)

Display Cisco Logo - Yes(Default)

Redirect URL after login - www.ssmic.com

Page Headline - SSMIC

Page message - Sault Ste Marie Innovation Centre

When I click the preview button it shows the correct page.

When I try to login to the guest network I get a completely different page.

https://192.0.2.1/login.html?redirect=www.gstatic.com/generate_204

On the page it says Connect to Wi-Fi

The wi-fi you are using (SSMIC-GUEST) may require you to visit its login page.

There is a connect button on the page but it doesn't do anything.

This page pops up automatically when I connect. The laptop gets an IP address from the set scope and when I check clients in the controller it shows the laptop is connected.

What am I missing?  Why am I not getting the page that shows when I click on preview in the controller.

In best practices settings did you disable HTTP? I had a similar issue where I enabled HTTPS for management and it would no longer let the device redirect to the login page.  under the webauth global setting, I had to run the command webauth-http-enable.

So thanks for the reply.  Although, I don't seem to have the command webauth-http-enable, I did change the setting in the gui

HTTP Access - changed to enabled

and that seems to have worked.

Thanks again

Gord.

I believe you have to create a parameter-map type webauth global, then ad the webauth-http-enable.
