It depends on what you want, are you looking for an predictive heatmap or an post deployment heatmap?

Market leader for heatmaps and WLAN planning is Ekahu. If you need to take an post deployment coverage verification then you might need an Ekahu side kick as well. Ekahu is expensive and it is worth the value most of the times. But looks like they started taking classes from Cisco on the licensing.

Other options are

1. Airmagnet

2. Tamograph

3. Acrylic

Select what works for you best, I suggested Ekahu just because our organization uses them.

Cisco Prime is not a WLAN planning tool nor post deployment verification tool, it just provides you with an estimated coverage based on the parameters it learns through your infrastructure.

Hello All,

I have tabled all the suggestions to my management but did not approve anything due to budget constraints.

Thanks ok.

I learnt new things by reading the documentations of all the proposed solutions.

Thanks again.
