I have two remote sites, one is setup with FlexConnect AP's and the other is setup in LOCAL AP mode. Both are showing high bandwidth on our WAN connection to our main campus where we are using a 5508WLC.
5508 WLC running on v 7.4.110
AP's setup at remote via "LOCAL AP mode" AIR-CAP2602I-A-K9 -- bandwidth utilization is 53.62% or 927.3M
Backbone is all Cisco at this site
AP's setup at second remote via "FlexConnect" AIR-LAP1142N-A-K9 -- bandwidth utilization is 83% or 1.6Gigs
Backbone is Extreme at this site
All systems that these sites access are at our main campus, including internet access.
Any ideas on why the bandwidth is so high?

Have you enable FlexConnect on both the WLAN and the APs?

The FlexConnect option is not enabled on the WLAN's. However, we only have one of the two sites configured as FlexConnect. The other site is setup as LOCAL.

It wont be operating in FlexConnect mode unless both the access point and WLAN have it enabled. So that means in both cases they will be operating in local mode.
In local mode all user traffic is tunnelled back to the WLC. So you are observing the sum of all your WiFi users traffic running through a tunnel.
