This might be a stupid question, but I have extremly little knowledge about multicast sadly.
We're required to have multicast on our WLC because one of the VLANs are using bojour. For wired and wireless devices.
I only want multicast active on this vlan, so I turned igmp snooping off on the other vlans in the C9800.
I do understand that turning igmp snooping off on a switch is bad practice, since the switch will just forward multicast traffic to all clients on the network.
But how does this work with wireless? If we're required to have multicast turned on, because of bonjour, how do I make sure only that WLAN speaks multicast that is connected to that VLAN?
At the moment I removed all other VLANs from IGMP snooping list, and also under Configuration/Tags & Profile/WLANs, under all the WLANs that are not supposed to use multicast, I changed mDNS mode to drop.
Am I doing this the wrong way, should I turn on IGMP snooping on all VLANs to avoid getting spammed with multicast traffic?
