Issues with WISM1 and SXJ6 IOS

So  I ahve need to upgrade the IOS revision on my 6506-E chassis to the  SXJ6 train from SXH2a. I have a 10GB fiber module I need to install plus  I'm prepping to upgrade to WISM2. I attempted the upgrade on Tuesday  and what i saw was my WISM1's 8 internal gig ports were unavailable, and  I was unable to restablish contact with it. It's running 7.0.116.0.  That night, I looked up issues others ahve had and they seemed similar. I  tried setting up the native-vlan for the wism, the service vlan was  already setup, but I may ahve forgotten to setup the allowed-vlan list.  Can someone outline or point me to a set of instructions on how to  properly reestablish contact with a WISM blade after I upgrade to SXJ6  where our standard setup no longer works?

You are in luck. I did this very process last night. Swapped 720 to 720-10gig and upgraded from SXJ2 to SXJ6. I had the same problem as you.

I added the layer 2 vlans (vlan 192,244,246-248,254) and did a no shut to the SVI interfaces and I was back in business again. I think when you do the auto wism commands the vlans are created but perhaps not seen in the config. So when you cut and paste they arent there on the new hardware. Also make sure your service vlan is doing dhcp or your controllers are static so they can talk.

But once I added the vlans I was off to the races. BTW I read your header and was OMG what now .. LOL

Lets keep in touch. If I see anything odd i will let you know. Send me your email in PM.
