i have a employee who is requesting to have two access points in his office which are connected to the same WLC , wouldn't that actually have negative impact on wireless performance for him in the room or not?

No issues you can use access points with different channels, if they are in same channel then co-channel interference is issue.

No Impact unless they are using same channel.

Like for 802.11 b/g/n 1 ,6 ,11 these are non overlapping channels.

but would it provide any improvement in signal coverage?
