                   Hello Colleagues

Please there is any way to change the OS from LAP to Autonomous for  lap1262n

Change your subnet mask on your PC to 255.255.255.0 and no need for a default gateway.  Disable any firewall on your machine and then follow the previous instructions.  You don't need to change the ip address on the AP and now you willo need to erase and reboot.  So when you are in the CLI of the AP, issue a write erase and then reboot without saving.  When the ap comes back, make sure there is no static address set.  Then follow the proceedures above.

Thanks,

Scott

You can... You just need to be able to download the IOS image and then follow these directions.

It's a hidden command.... You just need to type it in. Use the archive download command and tftp the IOS image.

Hello Scott

Thank you for the helpfull command  , but i'm geeting confisued

1 i assigned static ip for both PC and the AP but i cannot reache it to upload the file

2 i plug the POE switch on my  home LAB with DHCP enable i cannot reach the access point

Well first off just remember that the AP will default using 10.0.0.1 /24 so you should set your PC for 10.0.0.2 /24. Also make sure you can ping the AP so do a continuos ping to the AP and disable your firewall. I use 3CDeamon for my tftp server but tftpd32 also works good.

i flowed you instruction but the same host unreachable

1 i'm connecting the power to AP

2 back to bak cable from AP 10.0.0.1  to the PC 10.0.0.2/24

Can you ping?  Connect the AP and the PC to a switch on the same vlan... doens't matter what vlan as long as they are on the same.  Might be the cable you are using also...

Thanks,

Scott

Hello Driss,

Just one question, you press the button "mode" on startup by 25 seconds?

You will receive the following example in CLI:

button is pressed, wait for button to be released...

button pressed for 25 seconds

process_config_recovery: set IP address and config to default 10.0.0.1

process_config_recovery: image recovery

image_recovery: Download default IOS tar image...

After you can get access to do the process.

Regards.

Hello Driss,

Look steps:

Step 1 - The static IP address of the PC on which your TFTP server software runs should be between 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.30.

Step 2 - Make sure that the PC contains the access point image file (such as ap3g1-k9w7-tar.124-25d.JA2.tar for a 1260 series access point) in the TFTP server folder and that the TFTP server is activated (set the timeout value on the TFTP server to 30 seconds).

Step 3 - On the PC where the TFTP server is located, perform these steps:

a. Disable any software firewall products, such as Windows firewall or others.

b. If you are using Windows -> Ensure all Windows files are visible. From Windows Explorer, click Tools > Folder Options > View; then uncheck the Hide extensions for known file types check box.

Step 4 - Rename the access point image file in the TFTP server folder to "c1260-k9w7-tar.default" for a 1260 series access point.

Step 5 - Connect the PC to the access point and disconnect power from the access point.

Step 6 - Press and hold MODE while you reconnect power to the access point.

Step 7 - Hold the MODE button until the status LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds) and then release.

Step 8 - Wait until the access point reboots, as indicated by all LEDs turning green followed by the Status LED blinking green.

Step 9 - After the access point reboots and you completed work.

or

If you have one Controller working, you can downgrade by WLC also, check:

(Cisco Controller) >config ap tftp-downgrade your_ip ap3g1-k9w7-tar.124-25d.JA2.tar ap_name

Regards.
