We are using Access Point Cisco Aironet 1200
together with AIR-CB21AG-E-K9.
When sending long term pings from the notebook
to the AccessPoint we always get round trip delays
of <1ms. But usually one or two times the minute
we get a block of replies with delays up to
100ms. We are testing in a single user lab environment
and there is no traffic going over the LAN.
We simply ping the AP and not the components in the
LAN behind it. We have the effect with several
notebooks and different drivers.
Parallel we found out that VoIP traffic traversing
this AP gets interrupted one or two times the minute.
Question:
Is it normal that the radio path of an AP periodically
produces round trip delays of 100ms?
I know that in a shared medium fast response time cannot be guaranteed all the time but this here looks like an effect that is "build in" the system.
Thanks in advance
