All,
Can you please help with the following
We are expanding our wireless infrastructure by adding further access points AIR-AP1242AG-E-K9.
We use four WLC 4402 running version 6.0.188.0 as a fail over pair.
What is the recommended limit one WLC can handle ?
We can divide the load on the controllers but in case of a failover one WLC will manage all access points.
any help would be much appreciated
Kind Regards,

It depends on the license of the WLC.
4402 WLC has the license of 12, 25, or 50 APs limitation. Which means one 4402 can support 50 APs maximum.

Hi Robert,
Thanks for the update
If we have a failover pair (2 WLC) can we actually run 50 access points on each ?
If we have a failover one WLC would manage 100 access points.
If a controller is licensed for 50 AP does it mean 50 access points would go offline or unmanaged when a failover occurs if we consider the example mentioned above ?
Kind Regards,

If a controller is licensed for 50 AP, then the 51st AP won't be able to join the controller.
