We have a project going on where we want to use RFID tags to track inventory in the parking lot. I am being told that the RFID tags need "location grade Wi-Fi" to work. I have never heard of this. I know there is a difference between voice grade and data grade, but has anyone heard of location grade?

yes, and there are three types of 'location grade'
presence detection - pretty much any deployment gives you this
VD - Vicinity Detection -
ALT - accurate location tracking
It all has to do with how accurate you want NCS to show the client on the maps.
you can look at teh IUWMS exam prep guides

Had a design where the hospital wanted an SSID created for Semi-Trusted Device.
I asked the technical people, "Are you seriously considering naming the SSID to that abreviation?"
They did NOT get what I was talking about until I had to spell it out to them and what it meant. Geez!
