Folks,
I have enabled DHCP/HTTP polling for a WLAN. I have multiple IOS and Android Devices connected to it but when i look at the "show client summary devicetype" majority of the devices come up as unknown or unclassified. I am running 8.2.151 code. Do I need to download MAC-OUI file or some other file to update the list of controller known devices.

Hi
You can get the lastest file from:
http://standards.ieee.org/develop/regauth/oui/oui.txt
Then, you can upload to the WLC. Go to the COMMANDS tab, Download File and select OUI Update from the menu.

If you never did this before, you must have the file Cisco uploaded. We never know which one.

Whao!
Exercise caution when doing OUI update. I've already experienced several controller crashes, with recent WLC firmware, when updating the OUI. This is Bug ID CSCvg66702.
My recommendation is to update this first in a test environment. Don't do it live or you'll regret it.
Before running 8.5.110.0 (and later) I used to do OUI update monthly and it really worked and worked very well.
The OUI update only started working after a certain version in 8.X.X.X. Early versions would "take" the OUI update but didn't work when profiling.
