Hi,
Hope you can help to provide some explaination or guidance.
The following messages appeared in the wireless controller deployed in my customer environment
'Malformed SSID information in sniffing dump from AP'
Can anyone explain the cause of this log?
Thank you.

What code are you running and what WLC & LAP's do you have.

Hi Scott,
WLC model is WiSM and previously it is running 4.2.176 but I've upgraded it to 5.2.157.0 to resolve some caveats.
The AP installed and deployed is LAP1242AG.
Do you think it is software version related?
Thanks for your reply.

There will always be caveats, but the 5.x firmware isn't better nor stable as 4.2.130 or 4.2.176. To be honest, if things were working fine leave it. I have clients running 5.2 only when MESH is involved. Other than that I still have client on 4.1.185 or 4.2.130/.176 (1250ap) with no issue.
Do you see malformed packets on the switchports also?
