I have a customer requirement to gather syslog information and send it to an external server. I have been able to complete this successfully with the mse setup script and can see a multitude of messages coming through. This information that comes through seems to be specifi to the MSE application only however (not sure, but possibly /opt/mse/logs).
Can someone confirm this?
If this is true, is there are way to forward the RedHat syslog as well? I am quite comfortable with Linux and have no problem setting rsyslog or syslog-ng, however, I do not want to void any support in place because I modified outside of Cisco's support scope.

It's really up to you if you want to enable syslog on the OS. I don't know what TAC would say, but either wait and see if one of them comments or open a TAC case and get the info from them.
