Multiple SSIDs Switch Config

Hi!

May we know what configuration is required on a Cisco POE Switch Side if we need to have multiple SSIDs for our Aironet 2600 Series and different IP Ranges for each SSID and VLAN? The DHCP Server is a hardware firewall.

Thanks.

Configure switchport as a access port and dont put it in any particular VLAN.  It will work Fine. Dont go for trunk configuration.

The Network design is a little complicated for us. There is a core switch in which multiple data and voice vlans are configured. There is a separate vlan 3 for Sonicpoints which is going to a separate port on a sonicwall firewall device which is port 3. Almost all the edge switches are having sonicpoints connected to port 3 on every switch and the port 3 is the member of vlan 3 and untagged. Sonicpoints will automatically download the firmware and provisioning profile once connected to port 3 on any switch. Wireless users are getting IP Addresses from sonicwall DHCP.

We need to do two things.

First configure two ssids with different IP Address ranges.

We need to connect a switch to another switch on its port 4 and then connect a sonicpoint to port 3 on the new switch and let the sonicpoint download the firmware from sonicwall.

We don't know what configuration is needed on both the switches. We kept the default vlan as it is and created a wireless vlan and added port 3 but sonicpoint is unable to connect to sonicwall.

Thanks.

If its an autonomous AP then you need to configure switch ports as trunk(where AP is connected).

If its a LAP then switch port must be in access mode.
