Is it possible to hide the SSID and Network Range from a client running a wireless sniffer with the adapter in monitor mode ?

It is not possible to hide SSID . Many vendor including Cisco has option to
disable ssid in brodcast packet . This option disables ssid in beacon packets
but it does not prevent the ssid to get trasnmitted in the probe req and probe response .
