Hi
You need to it. When you open up putty and try to connect to it using ssh or telnet does it ask for user and password.
Default values is Cisco Cisco.
You can also set it to factory default using the button on the back side.

What I am trying to figure out here is if you have and Autonomous AP or lighwelight AP. As per the LED behavior you described, it seems to me that you have an lightweight AP with you and if thats is true you need to convert it to Autonomous.
The show version command can show it by revealing the AP partnumber which is something like k9w8 or k9w7.
To show this information you just need to login in on the and type " show version".
Can you do that?

As I suspected you have a capwap/lightweight AP and you need to convert if you want to use at home without an WLC.

You need to get an autonomous AP image and convert. The image can be downloaded from Cisco site but require contract.
How to convert is full of information non the internet.
This example here might help
