No ap-manager interface on CT2504

I have inherited a site where the builders have installed a 2504 controller with 8 access points.

Unfortunately they have not created an ap-manager interface when they did the set up.

Is there any way I can do this via GUI or command line without going back to defaults?

The site is over 100 miles away.

if the ASA is doing DHCP, you need to make sure that proxy is disabled.

config dhcp proxy disable

or

Controller > Advanced

With newer code versions, you do not need the AP-manager interface.  The management interface takes care of that role as well.

Look at the management interfeace and you should see a check box for ap-manger.

I cannot see a check box for ap-manager. There is Enable Dynamic AP management. That is ticked.

that's the one! (brain is only firing on 10 cylinders today instead of 16)

so is there some problem you are/were having with the site, or just the no ap-manager interface thing?

Everything is setup on site with an asa providing dhcp and if you plug into a switch on the vlans you get an ip address no problem. From the controller you can ping the interfaces on the asa but wireless clients just do not get dhcp addresses. I dont want to go down but may have to.

if the ASA is doing DHCP, you need to make sure that proxy is disabled.

config dhcp proxy disable

or

Controller > Advanced

Hi Steve. Thanks for your help with that. When I first looked at the site everything was getting its ip from the same range on the wlc. I am glad you pointed that out. I was sure it was on the WLC but couldnt work out where. All working fine now. Happy customer and happy me. No 230 mile round trip tomorrow.

but think of the mileage reimbursment!  glad it's working, and thanks for supporting the rating system
