How many frequencies are used in OFDM? And how
does this modulation relate to Spread Spectrum.
I mean what's the spreading factor gained with
OFDM vs. DSSS? If there are only 2 carriers, can
OFDM really be classified as "Spread Spectrum"?

The Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) used by the IEEE 802.11a uses a system of 52 subcarriers modulated by BPSK or QPSK and 16-quadrature amplitude modulation.
