Older 350 Clinet adapters 10 dBm less sensitive than new ones

I have been testing older client adapters (Cisco Aironet 350 series) with the latest firmware and drivers (windows 2000). I am connecting these to a 1200 Seriel AP (latest firmware installed 12.02). I am noticing that the older cards (about a year old) are about 5 - 10 dBm less sensitive than the new ones (about 2 months old). Does anyone have any ideas as I can not have new and old users having different signal strength numbers. Can I bring the card s to factory defaults or adjust any registers within the card for RX sensitivity. Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi Tim,

Interesting osbervation. In the past if you mix and match Frimware NDIS and ACU versions then you will get different receiver sensitivity "reported" results.

Can you post or email me (derwin@cisco.com) a table showing

for each card ACU version NDIS version and Firmware version and the approx age of the card or serrial number if you wish. and signal strength recieved

Also are you using the same laptop and AP for all cards during the test
