omnidirectional antenna pattern and position

I have a number of internal AP models (3502i, 3602i, 3702i). I understand that they all have inbuilt omni-direction antennas (creates a 360 degree coverage pattern). My question is - does it matter which position the AP mounted? Does it makes any difference (coverage wise if I mount the ap horizontally or vertically? or the signal radiate to the same area no matter which position I mount the AP? Any feedback, reference or links would be greatly appreciated.

When mounting an access point on a horizontal or vertical surface, you must ensure that the access point is oriented with the LED indicators pointing down .This positioning allows the LEDs to be visible to someone on the ground below the access point.

You must also ensure the access point is mounted with the hinged access cover facing out.

Note : Omnidirectional antennas are vertically polarized and should be mounted vertically with the antennas facing down.
