PEAP with USB Client on windows 2k

Hi

Does anybody tried PEAP with Linksys USB Client.

We are using Cisco AP ACs and so on. PEAP works fine. i have also get peap and the USB Client working with Windows XP. But not under win2k. when i use my Cisco pcmcia kart it works fine. I have intalled the PEAP patch from MS for win2k. and not the cisco peap driver.

maybe someone has the same issue.

Enable the Authentication Tab on the wireless connection.

Please go to the Windows 2000 Services and look for Wireless Configuration and

start the service

A.Right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.

B. Click Services and Applications, and then click Services.

C. Set the Startup value for the service (Wireless Configuration) to Automatic,

and then start the service.

You can find more information about this Microsoft issue on the following link under common

issues: Using 802.1x Authentication on Computers Running Windows 2000

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb%3ben-us%3b313664

2- When you install the 802.1X hot fix, the Microsoft install the PEAP-MSCHAPv2 supplicant.

The Cisco ACS doesn?t support it. We need to use PEAP-GTC which is install with the ACU

We need to be sure the ACU was install (or reinstall) after the hot fix.

After completing the previous two tasks, you need to set up the wireless connection through the

Authentication tab with the correct settings. The screens look very similar to the screen shots thats available for Windows XP.
