Power Settings on 1310 WGB

I see in the config guide that I can set either a CCK power or an OFDM power?

What is the difference? Do I need one or both?

Step 4

power local

These options are available for the 802.11g, 2.4-GHz radio:

power local cck settings:

{ -1 | 2 | 5 | 8 | 11 | 14 | 17 | 20 | maximum }

power local ofdm settings:

{ -1 | 2 | 5 | 8 | 11 | 14 | 17 |maximum }

Right now I have "power local ofdm 5":

But I do use the fast secure roaming...not sure if this CCK has any thing to do with CCKM....hmm

CCK =modulation used for speeds between 1 and 11Mbps (802.11b)

OFDM =modulation used for speed between 12 and 54Mbps (11g)

There is legally a difference in maximum allowed transmit power (as you see in the output you pasted).

No relation with CCKM.

You should set both not to be higher than you regulatory domain max EIRP allowed power. Depending on the antenna you have

I am current setting it to run at 9Mbps but on G instead of B...

So basically if I am G then use OFDM....if B, then CCK.

Thank you.  I didn't think it had anything to do with CCKM but I had to ask.
