Do the clients get them and lose them after a while, or not get them at all?

"Reboot fix the problem" - Reboot the AP, or reboot the client?

What are you using for the DHCP service? The AP, a Server doing the DHCP service, or some orhter infrastructure device?

What NICs are you using? What driver versions are you using for those NICs? Are you using Microsoft Zero Wireless Config?

What encryption / authentication system are you implementing?

Describe the path from the client to the DHCP service.

Details are a Very Good Thing!

Post 'em up and we can probably help you.

Thanks

Scott

Sorry for prev message )

Situation;

- client get them and lose

- "Reboot" - reboot AP

- DCHP - isc-dhcp on freeBSD

- NIC - D-Link DWL-G520 with MZW Config and Vendor Software (work both 1st or 2nd)

- No encryption. Authentication open

- Path - DHCP server<->switch DAS-3526<->VDSL link (DEV-301M<->DEV-301MS)<->switch DAS-3018<->AP1231G<->Wireless clients

Sorry again

- Clients some times get them normal,some times not get and reboot fix this problem

Hi Sergei,

do you have any entrie in the bds box dhcp log?

DHCP works like this:

Client - - - Server:

----> DHCP Discover

<---- DHCP Offer

----> DHCP Request

<---- DHCP ACK

Are there dhcp requests from the clients which never get fullfilled?

Maybe the logfiles from the bsd machine in conjuntion with a wireshark (aka ethereal) trace from the wireless clients give us some valuable information.

It seems to me that the dhcp negotiation sometimes timed out on the way to the client.

Maybe Scott has some more ideas.

Best regards,

Frank
